Members - Don't Forget to Vote!
This year's
election will be a decisive moment in American history. I don't generally
like to talk about politics, but this is just too important to ignore.
No matter where you stand, vote! Don't let others make your decisions.
You can't complain if you don't vote.
Among
all the pressing issues, you're probably thinking about how this year's
presidential election will affect your business, and therefore your family.
Here are my thoughts on the subject:
If you
are making a good amount of money and benefitting from President Bush's
tax cuts in a real way, then your choice is clear - President Bush is
the man for you.
If,
on the other hand, you find your business is still struggling and you're
having trouble making ends meet, perhaps it is time for a change. I know
for myself and many other small business owners, we were not at all affected
by Bush's Tax Cut for the top 1% of earners in the country. The end of
the Marriage Penalty Tax and the new Child Tax Credit didn't affect us
much either. With two children, our Child Tax Credit was $2000 for the
year which didn't do much for our budget with the skyrocketing costs of
gas, electricity and heating alone.
Many
small business owners will also be relieved to know that Kerry has promised
not to raise taxes for families making less than $200,000 a year. Kerry's
plans for healthcare could also make a very positive impact on me, my
family and my business - not to mention the return to the "Pay as you
Go Plan" to help reduce our country's deficit again. If you're like me
- the choice it clear. I will vote for John Kerry in 2004!
No matter
how you stand, please DO VOTE! It's a close race and our nation is at
a major crossroads. Your vote has never been so important as it is today.
