Welcome Members! Autoresponders
As I viewed other member's network posts and personalized pages I was truly astounded by the lack of understanding most people seem to have when it comes to writing sales copy. Everywhere I went I saw features, features, and more features, but no benefits. Why? Every copy writer, guru, and marketing ebook will tell you that you need benefits to write effective sales copy. Save the features, they say, until you have drawn in your prospect with an explanation of the benefits associated with your offer. And yet, most of the copy I saw this week included only features without any benefits at all! Could it be that people don't really understand the difference between features and benefits? Let's try a test. Which of the following are benefits and which are features: 1. Low
cost Answers: 1. feature Features tell about the product. Benefits tell what the user will gain from the product. For example, all of the different services and recommendations I offer are features of my business. The benefits include being able to make more money by improving the presence, prensentation or marketing of one's business. Now you may be saying, "But natural ingredients seems like a benefit." It's not unless you're saying, "Our natural ingredients won't irritate skin" or something similar that explains how the customer will BENEFIT from the natural ingredients. People don't care about things as much as they care about what a particluar thing will do for them. Using my own busines as an example, nobody cares that I offer copy writing assistance until they realize that this service will help them improve their sales or the response they get with their advertising. Go and take a look at the copy I wrote for this service, you'll see that I lead with the benefits. I fully explain why someone would want to use this service and how they will benefit from it. I saved all the information about who I am, how much it costs, and how to order for the end. If a prospect is still reading by the end, they are a likely prospect who probably wants this information at this point in the process. If I had led with that stuff, readers probably would have said, "Good for you" and moved on without reading most of the text. Now look at your own sales copy. Do you lead with an explanation of what prospects will get out of your offer or do you start off by telling them about you and your company? Do you tell people what you are offering or do you tell them how your offer will make some aspect of their life better? Don't make the same mistake as 99% of inexperienced online marketers. Stress the benefits above all else to truly capture your reader's attention and encourage them to take action. New
