Web Site Copy

Whether you need sales copy for a landing page or the main page of your web site, I'll provide clear and direct, benefits-rich copy that drives your customers to take the desired action. Research and a strong empathic sense makes it possible for me to write for any small business.

PagosaWellness.com
This web site copy was written to fully explain a product that is not common in most people's experience. It was a lot of information that I condensed into a flow that works for the reader no matter their experience. It is naturally segmented with various calls to action to make it easy to use in email and social media ads, which was another important consideration for the client. (See the email treatment below.)

PoolTipsForWomen.com
This long form sales letter is designed to sell copies of the ebook offered with only a secondary goal of selling private lessons. The tone is friendly and direct. It was important to explain the product fully and avoid a "hard sell" feel with the long form.

OneStopInternetBusiness.com
The goal of this sales page copy was to set the company apart from an over abundance of competitors. The problem is stated clearly, along with the solution and several calls to action based on the reader's specific needs. The use of strong rotating testimonials at the top reinforces the company's credibility and reputation, further helping the reader to feel confident choosing them.

Compass Franchise Consultants
This one took some research. While the client gave me specific details, she was unable to fully articulate the benefits of working with a consultant. I searched through articles and competitor web sites to be able to come up with a comprehensive and compelling list.

Copy Revision

Are you getting traffic but no sales? You will need to improve your copy. I can take the copy you've written and edit it to be more effective while maintaining your voice. This can be a more affordable option than a complete rewrite because it takes less research.

Web Site Copy
The client wrote the original copy for this site and he did a pretty good job. All of the elements were there, but it wasn't bringing in clients like he had hoped. I added words with a high emotional impact to help readers imagine their special day and the memories they would treasure forever. I also highlighted his skill and amazing client list to give him effective sales copy that's been keeping him busy for over a year.

Landing Page
This client's initial presentation was really cute, but she didn't establish herself as an authority to give people the confidence to buy. I added a paragraph that highlighted how accomplished she is while keeping as much of her origianl style intact. The CTA was the large graphic on the left. The client is now making sales. (The original is included with the link for comparison.)

Email Introduction
This client had changed jobs and wanted to let contacts know about his new situation. The original was lackluster and almost apologetic. I infused it with confidence, clarified the offer a bit and gave it an urgent call to action to encourgae a quick response. The cleint really liked it and felt much more comfortable sending it out to his contacts. (The original is included with the link for comparison.)

Content Writing

Content writing, such as blog posts, provide information at the same time they build awareness about your business. They often require research and usually do not include a call to action like a regular sales piece. Keywords are very important, because every blog post hopes to be included in search results to reach potential customers who are looking for information related to your product or service.

Traffic + Compelling Sales Copy = Profits
I've written more about online business than I could possibly include here. As a business consultant for nearly 20 years, I know the value of a well written article or blog post. My style is clear and direct. I'm also quite familiar with current SEO techniques and use them to ensure your blog posts get the best exposure.

Buying an Industrial Ice Machine
This client wanted something short, clear and instructive to include on their web site that would clarify shopping points for customers interested in buying an industrial ice machine. He also wanted this buying guide to receive search engine traffic, thereby bringing in more customers. I did some research, using articles and competitor web sites, to come up with a search engine friendly piece that is clear and comprehensive. Word Count: 444

Self Storage and Social Media Marketing
This client was in a very niche business of setting up web sites and marketing systems for self storage companies. He was frustrated that so many of his clients didn't use all the tools he gave them. He wanted an article that illustrates how useful Facebook can be in promoting their business. Word Count: 988

8 Tips On Facebook Marketing For Mortgage Brokers
Similarly, this client sets up web sites and marketing funnels for Mortgage Brokers. He wanted an in-depth article with specific, actionable tips and instructions for his customers, particularly in regard to using Facebook ads. This article was meant to educate readers and spur them to take action. Word Count: 1249

Healthy Relationships Revolution
My content writing is not limited to business information. I started writing social commentary and philosophical editorials in 2005 under the pen name Gwenneth Morgan. Today I use my own name to write about healthy relationships. I am always glad to ghost write or contribute content to any effort committed to spreading awareness about healthy relationships of all kinds.

Social Media Ads

Writing copy for ads needs to be short, direct and compelling.

Facebook
This ad announced this business's new location in a very small town in SW Colorado. We boosted it to reach all Facebook users within a certain age range that lived nearby. The were very pleased with the reach since they only had about 200 followers. This ad also helpd them to more clearly define their target market and tailor future messages for that demographic.

Google
This ad was written to promote the same client's Valentine's Day promotion. We decided to reuse the image since it's on a different platform that hadn't seen it yet and it fairly screams Valentine's Day. People were intrigued by the aphrodesiac massage oil, which motivated them to call.

Email Copy

Stay in touch with customers to let them know about events, sales and important news with email copy they will want to read. I can also craft a CAN-SPAM safe introduction message to use with contacts who have not yet subscibed to your list.

Sales
This ad was written to promote this client's special, limited time offer. All of the pertinent details are included in the first fold, so each reader is sure to see it, even they don't scroll. The rest of the message explains the benefits of the service offered and answers any questions the reader might have with several calls to action. In addition to writing the copy, I created the layout in MailChimp. (If you cannot read the linked image, click on it to zoom.)

Subject Line: $20 OFF CBD Massage
Alternate Subject Text: Just in Time for 4/20!

Events
This message included a list of several of the client's upcoming workshops. Each was presented with a small photo, short description and a call to action link to register. In addition to writing the copy, I created the layout in MailChimp. (If you cannot read the linked image, click on it to zoom.)

Subject Line: Upcoming Workshops and Retreats - AZ & CO
Alternate Subject Text: See What's Coming Up

Information
This client's flagship service is a 5-day Panchakarma cleanse program. The copy they had been using was almost cryptic in that it didn't use the word Panchakarma and it did not explain what it is. After writing fresh web site copy for them, I simply used the top sections of the page copy with anchor links for More Information to take the reader to that portion of the full page. This example is longer than most people want for an email message, but in this case, it was important to fully describe an expensive product that the mailing list had been hearing about without a clear explanation of what was being offered. (If you cannot read the linked image, click on it to zoom.)

Subject Line: 2020 Cleanse Program Schedule for AZ and CO
Alternate Subject Text: Complete List of Dates for Both Locations

CAN SPAM Safe Introduction
This client was very keen to start sending email messages to people who aren't already on her mailing list. After a SPAM complaint temporarily shut down her MailChimp account, she realized she had to come up with a way to get more people to subscribe to her mailing list. This was the copy I delivered, complete with comments regarding a more appropriate gift for subscribers. (If you cannot read the linked image, click on it to zoom.)

Subject Line: Subscribe for NCBTMB CE Courses
Alternate Subject Text: Board Approved Continuing Education for Body Workers

Other

There's a wide variety of marketing pieces that will always perform better when you use a professional copy writer.

Articles
I wrote a variety of articles for the Chico News and Review in which I interviewed new local business owners. My goal with each was to highlight what made each business unique and give business owners a chance to answer any questions potential customers might have. These were really fun and also very effective at promoting each business. Jason Johnson, featured here, reported 11 new customer calls within a few days after this article was published.

Holiday Message
This client needed help writing their company's holiday greeting to be sent to all their freinds, family, contractors, suppliers, investors and business contacts. They wanted something warm, personal and festive, but they also wanted to highlight what they are doing and generate interest in their projects scheduled for the next year.

Printed Rack Card
This rack card was created to introduce this business to a new local community. The primary goal was to highlight quality and affordability, while offering a discount on the reverse to encourage new clients. The color and the image make it stand out and memorable.
