Please
accept my sincerest apologies.
As you know, ONE STOP was down for about two weeks. I won't bore you with
all of the details, suffice it to say that my host agent, who has been
so responsive over the past 15 months, disappeared. I had heard that he
was very ill and I fear that he may actually be dead.
Learn
from my mistake!
The problem that I faced had to do with not knowing whom to contact above
him and also, lost login information to change my site details with the
registrar.
Now,
there is really nothing I could have done about my host agent, except
for not using a reseller in the first place and only dealing directly
with the parent company. I will do this in the future.
The lost
login information was a result of the death of my first hard drive (those
of you who have been with ONE STOP
for a while know that I have lost two.)
Again,
there was really nothing I could have done about this either. Had I known
then what I know now about the importance of backing up data, it could
have been avoided, but alas, hindsight is 20/20. If you have not backed
up all of your data recently, do it now!
Back
to Normal
All I can say is that I have not gone anywhere and I do not plan on going
anywhere. This type of malfunction happens on the web and luckily, due
to past lessons, I have the current site and all data backed up.
There
may be periods of downtime over the next couple of weeks as I implement
my own hosting solution close to home where I can keep a good eye on it.
Once that is done, it will take time to reestablish all auto- responders,
but my goal is to never experience down time like this again.
Thank
you for your patience and understanding. If you sent me an email message
in the last two weeks, I didn't get it. Email will not be stable until
ONE STOP is re-established on its
new server.
